1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Aethera ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

2. Description of Service

Aethera is an AI-powered tabletop role-playing game (RPG) companion that provides:

  • AI Game Master functionality for solo and guided RPG experiences
  • Story management and organization tools
  • Character creation and tracking
  • World-building and knowledge management
  • Interactive storytelling features

The Service is provided "as is" and may be modified, updated, or discontinued at any time without prior notice.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

3.3 Age Requirements

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the Service.

4. User Content

4.1 Ownership

You retain ownership of all content you create, upload, or input into the Service ("User Content"), including but not limited to stories, characters, and world-building materials.

4.2 License Grant

By submitting User Content to the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, and process your User Content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service.

4.3 Content Restrictions

You agree not to submit User Content that:

  • Violates any applicable law or regulation
  • Infringes on the intellectual property rights of others
  • Contains hate speech, harassment, or discrimination
  • Promotes violence or illegal activities
  • Contains malware or harmful code
  • Is sexually explicit involving minors

5. AI-Generated Content

The Service uses artificial intelligence to generate narrative content, responses, and other materials ("AI Content"). You acknowledge and agree that:

  • AI Content is generated algorithmically and may not always be accurate, appropriate, or suitable for all audiences
  • We do not guarantee the quality, accuracy, or appropriateness of AI Content
  • You are responsible for reviewing and moderating AI Content before sharing with others
  • AI Content should not be relied upon for factual information, professional advice, or real-world decisions

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
  • Use the Service to transmit spam or unsolicited communications
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Use automated systems or software to extract data from the Service
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Use the Service for any commercial purpose without our consent

7. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content (excluding User Content), features, and functionality are owned by Aethera and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

The Aethera name, logo, and all related names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans are trademarks of Aethera. You may not use such marks without our prior written permission.

8. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately. You may request a copy of your User Content before termination by contacting us.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR COURSE OF PERFORMANCE.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that any defects will be corrected.

10. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL AETHERA, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, PARTNERS, AGENTS, SUPPLIERS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE THE SERVICE.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Aethera operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
